Debate Competition
The BFF-Samkal National Science Debate Festival 2025 was organized by Samakal Suhrid Sambalpur. The competition was held in the morning (September 25) at the United Public School and College auditorium in a festive atmosphere.
In this, United Public School and College won the title of champion and Nandina Quark Public School was the runner-up. The best speaker was Asmahu Sadika Swaiba, the leader of the winning team.
Students from eight schools in the district participated in the competition. Other participating educational institutions are – Jamalpur Zilla School, Government Girls High School, Bakshiganj Ulfatunnesa Government Girls High School, Shahabuddin Memorial School, Mamun Smriti Public High School and Islampur Government JJKM Girls High School and College.
The debate competition was inaugurated at 10 am by United Public School and College Principal Col. (Retd.) Md. Rashidul Islam Khan, SGP, PSC, G, through recitation of the Holy Quran, recitation of the Gita and performance of the national anthem. At the inaugural ceremony, he said, the current era of science. Acquiring science-based knowledge and the ability to think logically will be helpful in shaping the future leadership of the students.
The guests of the program were Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Jinnat Shahid Pinki, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Azizul Haque, former Principal of Government Ashek Mahmud College Dr. Mujahid Billah Farooqui, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mohammad Chanowar Hossain, Acting Principal of United Public School and College Tanjila Rahman and Chief Administrative Officer Hasan Sharif, Advisors of Samakal Suhrid Sambalpur Shyamal Chandra Saha and Ikramul Haque Nabin.
The program was presided over by Samakal Suhrid Sambalpur President Professor Md. Abdul Hai Alhadi. The moderator was Suhrid Editor Mohammad Sajjad Hussain. The overall coordinator was Jamalpur District Representative Anwar Hossain Mintu. Parents, teachers, students and guests present at the event enjoyed each episode of argument and counterargument.
Students participating in this day-long competition presented significant and lively debates on various science topics. At the end of the competition, the guests distributed crests and certificates among the champion and runner-up teams.
