International Mother Language Day
Quark Public School, Nandina, Jamalpur, observed International Mother Language Day on 21st February with great respect and enthusiasm. The day began with a mourning rally where students, teachers, and staff walked barefoot carrying flowers, banners, and festoons inscribed with “Shaheed Dibosh 1952.”
After the rally, everyone gathered at the school auditorium. The program started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem. Students paid tribute to the language martyrs by placing flowers at the temporary Shaheed Minar built on the school premises.
Various cultural events such as poem recitation, patriotic songs, and short speeches were presented by the students. The Principal delivered a speech highlighting the significance of the Language Movement and encouraged students to respect and use their mother tongue with pride.
The program ended with a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs. It was a meaningful and inspiring day that filled everyone’s hearts with love and pride for the Bengali language.
